ssarathy got their new wordpress theme design by running a design contest:
Design a new website for an award-winning technology brand
Check out ssarathy's WordPress theme design contest…
We are a software company that sells to large enterprises backup/recovery software for modern databases (Hadoop, Cassandra, Couchbase, etc). Our audience is primarily technical – database architects and administrators, engineering teams, and information technology teams.
It should be modern and sleek, from the colors to the font style. It should match the color and stylistic theme of our product (screenshots attached along with our current color guide) since our customers react very favorably to it. The site has to be responsive since about 20% of our traffic is mobile/tablet based, and not be very “heavy” – we don’t want graphics or imagery that take a long time to load. We do not want images of people and would like to use icons to represent different backup/recovery concepts, but could use photography or other vector style images similar to the picture of the server that appears on our current site. Font sizing should not be overly large. The hero copy on our current site is too large. Spacing should be clean and consistent throughout.
Home page: We would the page to be a vertical scroll-down page. At the top we want to highlight our main category and value proposition (which for now you can take from our current site). Then we’d like people to easily get more details from our product, use case or solution sections. We want to highlight via a carousel the ability to for readers to review new articles, blog posts, events or customer case studies. Products: We want to highlight the key benefits associated with 3-4 unique capabilities. We want to point people to additional resources on the “resources” section, the solutions page or the use case pages. We’d like to use screenshots and to the extent possible also highlight customer quotes or case studies. Use cases: We have 3-4 use cases and would like the same template for each one. Each use case (e.g.. Backup and recovery) would highlight the business reason/context for the use case, our capabilities, and the benefits to enterprise users. We’d want to have the ability to point readers to resources that are specific to that use case (webinars, blog posts, white papers, etc) Solution areas: These are the specific databases that we support and we’d have 4-5, each with a similar template. Each solution area would highlight how we optimize for that particular database and we’d highlight the underlying benefits. For each page, we would point to resources that are specific to that database (datasheets, webinars, blog posts, etc) Resources: Highlight in a visual manner the datasheets, white papers, webinars, etc., that are available for reading/viewing/download. This section would be organized differently than it currently is, and would have topics rather than types of assets featured across the top along with a search function to search the assets for keywords. For a full listing of the assets please look at www.talena-inc.com/resources Other sections would include /company /news /partners /contact /blog /careers /download /support
We've attached our current color scheme as well as our product screenshots to help with creating brand consistency from website to product.
