Kayfik got their new logo & social media pack by running a design contest:
Design an intuitive logo for Kayfik @ www.kayfik.com | Kayfik = "It's up to you" in Arabic
Check out Kayfik's Logo & social media pack contest…
Kayfik means "it's up to you" in Arabic. www.kayfik.com will allow customers to buy, sell, and repair used electronics. We will start off by allowing customers to sell their used smart phones to us, which we will appraise based on make, model, capacity, condition, etc. of the phone. Our audience is primarily in the Middle East region, starting off with Kuwait. The web and app platforms which will be designed at a later stage and our social media accounts will be bilingual (English and Arabic). Our customers are people who would like to sell their devices and need some cash to help finance the purchase of their next device or who simply just want to reduce clutter.
We are following up this logo and social media design contest with a web design contest. We are hoping to have a logo that will translate well into an overall theme for the web design layout that provides a user intuitive interface and experience. Please find below some new notes that should provide some more context and help you out a bit more: 1. What we need from you to help us make our brand stand out from the crowd... - Trustworthy and Reliable: We need to be seen as a trustworthy and reliable brand that will provide honest appraisals of customers' used electronics and treat customers in a respectful manner. - Modern and Forward Looking: We are a modern and forward thinking company that is always looking for ways to engage customers in manners that are simultaneously efficient (we don't want to waste their time) and meaningful (we want the experience of whatever time they spend engaging with us to be of the highest satisfaction, so as to encourage word of mouth). - Empowering and Intuitive: We want to empower our customers to do what they need to do. If they need to sell their electronics, we make it easy for them and straightforward. Likewise if they need to buy or repair. - Environmentally Friendly, Economically Sustainable, and Socially Responsible: The solution we've provided customers allows them to save the environment by making sure perfectly functioning electronics aren't unnecessarily wasted while being economically responsible for both the seller and buyer, in addition to giving others in the community a chance to own the electronics they desire at a more affordable price We want to close the loop between disposing and recycling! 2. Some thoughts on our target audience (age, gender, maybe social background), including specific demographics... - Middle Class Income: Our customers are individuals who are probably working to middle class (~USD 30,000 - ~USD 100,000 annual income), as well as some low-income earning high school / university-level students, who own a smartphone (think Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy) yet who are savvy and still value their hard earned money enough to know that the responsible thing to do is, when buying the latest model phone, to first sell their old devices. - Smart Convenience: This option of selling old devices currently exists in the analog world (e.g., by going to a physical store and selling the old device in person), but we're going to make it a lot smoother, easier, and quicker by taking advantage of what the digital world has to offer. - Young to Middle Aged: We think the core and typical age range engaging with us will be 16-45 years old. We hope to attract people regardless of their gender or nationality (keep in mind that the Middle East is a diverse place with lots of locals and expatriates/foreigners of various backgrounds living and working together). 3. Some unique, key values that we think should be reflected in the logo itself... - Simplicity | Intuitive | Honesty | Trustworthiness | Value | Empowering | Enabling - 4. Our feelings with regards to colors and thoughts on existing branding... - Brand New Startup: We are a brand new startup so you, the designer, will have a direct impact on how we are perceived by customers for potentially years to come. We like all sorts of colors, as long as it communicates our brand ethos - surprise us. - Don't Hold Back: As we are a new brand, there is no existing branding to work with or that you need to keep in mind. 5. Direct competitors, industry brands, and promotion... - Competitors: We don't currently have any direct competitors in our region, and those we've found tend to be stuck in web 1.0 or earlier. There are some international competitors but the designs they've chose to use weren't that inspiring to us. For context and concept clarification only visit www.gazelle.com
