kdurdag got their new powerpoint template by running a design contest:
Customer Service Escalation Information Sheet
Check out kdurdag's PowerPoint template contest…
We are a mid-size telecommunications company (internet service provider with high end and complex voice/phone products) that provides gigabit fiber (if you have heard of Google Fiber, we are like them) connectivity to businesses and residents. This specific project is mind specifically targeted at businesses (which range from small to mid-size; we do not service large multinational or enterprise level businesses). An important consideration is that even though we identify as telecommunications company we are also technology company... we design and use software platforms, and are into digital and privacy security as much as we are design, build and operate large scale internet networks for consumers and businesses.
Content to include in the template
The project as hand is this: 1. We have two "escalation" lists (samples of which are provided) we provide to commercial customers (regular and premier). 2. These escalation lists are used by the commercial customers to contact the company. 3. If the first level of contact does not yield the desired results, they go to the next level. As you can see in the samples provided, it goes all the way to the CEO. 4. The goal of this project is to completely and newly design (in powerpoint format) the escalation list is a cool, graphically arresting and visually pleasing way (as you see in the samples provided, what we have is immmensely boring). 5. What we also need to do is make sure what we are asking the customers to do is easily understandable. 6. We need two different powerpoint approaches (though I am treating this as one project) hat addresses the two customer sets (regular and premium) because the information for each is slightly different... and the customer profiles is different (premium customer pay us a lot more for service and support); so it can be a powerpoint with two slides or any other method. 7. The text fields identified have to be editable because personnel and their contact information may change.
Having spent many a year managing graphic design teams, I am deeply appreciative of your efforts. You will find to me to be responsive, be a team player and focused on the end goal. In terms of stock images, I am not opposed to it but let's make sure they are royalty free. In terms of the companies design aesthetic, it is: 1. Clean modern look (our website is www.gwi.net... take a look). 2. Use the white space to your advantage. 3. We hate clutter and ornate, baroque, flowery and complicated designs. Clarity is the goal here. 4. We need to use fonts in the text that can be easily supported; so try not to do some massively fancy font (we like sans serif... calibri, arial, and etc. etc.) 5. Keep in mind that a graphic designer is not going to be editing this text in the powerpoint; it will be one of the managers in our customer service support. So let us make it easy on him/her. 6. If you wish to get a high-res image of our logo, we will certainly get it to you. 7. Remember that this will go out to thousands of customers; they love us and we love them. The design has to maintain a sense of "steady-state" with colors and hues that communicate capability, calm and expertise. We are not trying to be fancy or overtly demonstrative. 8. We want the eye to follow the path of escalation in an easy manner. 9. I am not wedded to the current design at all... I am only wedded to communicating to the customer what we would like them to do in the event they have probiems with our service. 10. The anchor is a clean modern look.
