FOR ENGLISCH SEE BELOW Das Gedenkstättenreferat wurde auf Wunsch der Gedenkstätten zur Erinnerung an die NS-Opfer in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland eingerichtet und ist seit 1993 bei der Stiftung Topographie des Terrors angesiedelt. Heute ist es für die Etablierung, Koordinierung und Beratung des Netzwerkes verantwortlich, die eine zunehmende Zahl von Gedenkstätten erforderlich machen. Die Website des Gedenkstättenreferates (https://www.gedenkstaettenforum.de/index.php) dient als Vernetzungsplattform im Internet, die sowohl auf Ereignisse hinweisen kann als auch das Gedächtnis der Entwicklung der Gedenkstätten virtuell versinnbildlicht. Daneben informiert sie über die Arbeit des Gedenkstättenreferates, welches seit mehr als 30 Jahren die Vernetzung und Entwicklung der Gedenkstätten in Deutschland sowie Europa fördert. Die Website wird hauptsächlich von Gedenkstättenmitarbeitenden aus ganz Deutschland angesteuert. Daneben sind es Studierende, Kulturschaffende und Lehrende aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum sowie den USA und Großbritannien. Sowohl Männer als auch Frauen zwischen 25 und 55 Jahren nutzen die Website. Der größte Teil sind wiederkehrende Nutzer. Darüber hinaus möchten wir historisch und kulturell interessierte Personen ansprechen. --- The Memorial Sites Department was established at the request of the memorials commemorating the victims of National Socialism in the Federal Republic of Germany and has been located at the Topography of Terror Foundation since 1993. Dieser Designwettbewerb dient zur Vorbereitung und soll als Ergebnis einen Eindruck vermitteln, wie die Informationen der aktuellen Webseite moderner und nutzerfreundlicher darstellbar sind. Es geht nicht darum, die Seite als Ganzes neu zu designen, sondern darum, konkrete Anregungen zu erhalten, z.B. zu Formelementen, Farben, dem Verhältnis von Bild und Text. Es geht um die Frage, wie sich die flache Hierarchie der Webseite in Stil und Design widerspiegelt. Die Website soll klar die Informationen wiedergeben, ohne zu bieder zu wirken. Die Verbrechen des Nationalsozialismus schwingen unterbewusst stets mit, weshalb von großen Spielerreien abgesehen werden sollte. Dennoch ist die Website ein ruhiger, heller und freundlicher Ort, an dem zum Austausch angeregt werden soll. Es soll ein beständiger Ort der Information um die Gedenkstätten darstellen, gleichzeitig jedoch die Modernität der präsentierten Einrichtungen und des Gedenkstättenreferates durch Bild und leichte Bewegung versinnbildlichen. Die neue Website kann gerne Designelemente von der bisherigen – z.B. die Farben oder das Logo -übernehmen. Stilistische Neuerungen sind durchaus möglich. Die flache Hierarchie soll sich im Stil wiederfinden. Das Gedenken an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus beschreibt die Seriosität, die diese Seite ausdrücken sollte. Durchweg düstere Farben wie Schwarz, Dunkelbraun oder Dunkelblau und deren alleinige Nutzung sollten dennoch vermieden werden. Derzeit sind Weiß, sowie grün-gelbe Farben vorhanden. Insgesamt darf die Seite bunter werden, gerade um einzelne Themenfelder voneinander abzuheben. Die Website ist ein Ort der Information, welcher wiedererkennbar sein soll, weshalb hellere Farbtöne und Formen durchaus möglich sind. Die Usability und Informationswiedergabe stehen jedoch im Vordergrund (Lesbarkeit) und es sollte nicht zu verspielt wirken. “Dezent modern” könnte hier die Nutzung beschrieben werden. Farben und Formen sollen nicht vom Inhalt ablenken. --- In perspective, the website is to be completely redesigned. This design competition serves as a preparation and as a result should give an impression of how the information of the current website can be presented in a more modern and user-friendly way. It is not about redesigning the site as a whole, but about getting concrete suggestions, e.g. on form elements, colors, the relationship between images and text. It is about how the flat hierarchy of the website is reflected in style and design. The website should clearly reflect the information without appearing too staid. The crimes of National Socialism always resonate subconsciously, which is why major gimmicks should be avoided. Nevertheless, the website is a calm, bright and friendly place where exchange should be encouraged. It should be a constant place of information around the memorials, but at the same time symbolize the modernity of the presented facilities and the memorial department through images and light movement. The new website is welcome to adopt design elements from the previous one - e.g. the colors or the logo. Stylistic innovations are certainly possible. The flat hierarchy should be reflected in the style. The commemoration of the victims of National Socialism describes the seriousness that this site should express. Consistently gloomy colors such as black, dark brown or dark blue and their sole use should nevertheless be avoided. Currently, white, as well as green-yellow colors are present. Overall, the site may become more colorful, especially to distinguish individual subject areas from each other. The website is a place of information, which should be recognizable, so lighter colors and shapes are quite possible. However, the usability and information reproduction are in the foreground (readability) and it should not look too playful. "Discreetly modern" could be used to describe the usage here. Colors and shapes should not distract from the content.

FOR ENGLISCH SEE BELOW Die Grafik einer Personengruppe (s. Anhang) gilt als das "Logo" des Gedenkstättenforums. Dieses Logo steht für Kommunikation und Austausch im Gedenkstättenforum. Dieser Grundgedanke soll erhalten bleiben, wir sind offen für Weiterentwicklungen dieses Logos. Ebenso verhält es sich mit der "Wortmarke" (s. Anhang).
