Design a modern look for Relax Sounds (Fall asleep, Meditate, Relax)

The app allows a user to pick relaxing sounds for falling asleep, meditating, relaxing or just as background sounds. The app mixes several sounds together and the user can adjust them to their liking to create the exact scene they want. An integrated SleepTimer will allow them to have the sounds turn off after a specific time (like when they fell asleep).

- Try to go into the direction of Material Design (in places where it fits) - Not too colorful. Color scheme should be soothing/relaxing. It should be easy on the eye. But still it should have a fresh look. - Everything should be very simple - Ideas that I have that can be used (but don’t have to if you think there is another better way) -- Each sound category has a color that is as well used when the sound is displayed somewhere else. -- The Main screen has a background animation that runs while sounds are playing. The animation should be simple and maybe even with the colors of the categories of the playing sounds. Another way to show playing instead of this animation would be to have some animation on the selected sounds (like a pulsing or so). - Icon style would be nice if they are in the art of font awesome. Or in general taken from font awesome.

Relax Sounds

It just is a demo of the functionality. Now it just needs a beautiful design :) Screens: - Main Screen - Sound config screen (+ advanced) - Pick Sounds --Can be one or two screens. Could be that user first selects a category and then the sound. Or that the categories are somehow in the same screen as the sounds. - Pick Scene (not part of this contest, so please do not design this screen itself) Flow: Users start on the main screen which shows the currently selected sounds and the main controls for the app (play/pause, SleepTimer, add sound, choose a scene - multiple sounds combined, save current sounds as a scene). When music is playing, there should be some kind of indicator through a simple, slight (not annoying) animation. This can be on the background and/or the sound icons (pulsing for example). First it will only show the volume control. Through a click on an button (advanced or …) it will show advanced controls like: oscillation, repeat time, volume change (for sound packages - with multiple sounds it has a sound selection - which ones of the package to play. But this can be ignored in the first design. Since this might require a separate screen). There might be more options in the future. And some sound types might have different options. The controls all different sounds have is: Volume and Oscillation. For this please just design the advanced screen which has all controls (volume + advanced ones) visible with a button to hide the advanced items again. Or if you have a better idea, please feel free :). On the main screen there is a button or some way to add new sounds (should be visible and easy to access). That opens a screen where they can choose sounds. The sounds are separated into categories (Nature, Weather, Urban, Home, Instruments, Animals, Own, ???). Each category has a color. (That color could as well be shown on the main screen for the picked sound and might as well influence the background animation color). This screen stays open when a user clicks on sounds. When closing, the user comes back to the main screen where the selected sounds are shown again. On the main screen there is as well a button which leads to a screen to choose a predefined or saved scene. A scene is basically multiple sounds combined. For example “camping” consisting of fire, crickets and wind. User can pick a scene which will get him back to the main screen and starting to play the sounds of the given scene. DESIGNING OF THIS SCREEN IS NOT PART OF THE CONTEST! But please provide the button for the screen.

- The app should be an Android app and not an iPhone app. So try to stay within the Material design guidelines as far as possible. - Don't spend too much time on the icons. If possible use them from existing icon sets (like for example font awesome). - Groups/Categories: Should be a flexible amount. Currently around 7 categories, but this could grow or shrink. So please do not make the design to depend on it being a certain number.
