You can use the current app as a reference for the workflow:
The app currently has 3 major uses.
- The main screen allows you to change the current volume settings.
It serves as a one stop shop to change all volume settings. Tapping
on the icon next to each volume opens a drawer with more settings
for that type of volume. The current design is very text heavy with
all of the different settings and options here, and it currently
requires the user to read the labels. It would be nice if it was
to see things at a glance. Keep in mind that the most used features
here are the "volume locker" settings and the "ringer mode" setting
that's under the "Ringer" section.
- The presets allow you to apply a combination of settings in one tap
or automatically via a schedule. Some users are confused by the look
of the edit screen for presets, because it's very similar to the main
screen. It should be more obvious that they are not the same thing.
The app has a lot of complex functionality on the "preset edit"
screen, so it's important that the design makes the process feel
- Widgets, notifications, and popup volume panels provide convenient
and quick volume changes. The current widgets look a little
uninspired; it's basically a button in a rectangular box. Some
creativity here would be nice.
The goal is to create a new design that's simple and modern.
