How kevinzZ started their logo design journey

Gate City Media
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We started as a web design and development business, but over the years now offer web hosting and most recently aerial (drone) video/photo. If you try to work in only one of these aspects because I know they are different, try to keep it so it's "neutral enough" for the other to make sense as well.
The biggest thing to get across, I think, is that we offer a variety of creative services from the web to aerial. For instance (but not the tagline): Seeing things/your business from a different perspective.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?

Like the clean, easy to read fonts.
Looks like there are two designs/animals in this logo, which makes it interesting and me wanting to know more.
Like the play on words - how the bird is the "carrier" . Also like the simplistic fonts.
The term "Gate City" came from the place the business started (Greensboro, NC) and is a well-known term used about the city itself. Since "green" is part of "Greensboro" it may be interesting to have an accent color of green in the logo, but not required or definitely not the primary color.
Also the logo needs to be very clean and memoriable, look great on the web, business cards, invoices, and things like t-shirts. That being said, don't over complicate the design, and would need to be easy to use if something needs to be printed in one color only.
I've seen where some businesses are able to make initials work into the design, or even play off of the name (like if there was somehow a "gate" or a "city" used in the logo). I am uploading an outline of downtown, but again it's not required to have it in the design but if you can vision it - I would be interested.
