Power Engineering is a trade where people usually start out as a 4th class and through exams and standards set by ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association). Usually these are working class people that have not been in school for several years and need a little help passing these exams. Power engineers are mostly employed in power plants, oil refineries etc. The other name largely used is Process Operator. So in this province the oil industry is a large employer. In the logo, the idea of pipes in comes to mind, possibly steam as well with a small maple leaf at the end of the name or logo. Power Engineering is about operating boilers...the higher the "class" (4,3,2,1) the large the boilers you can run!...
