SpectrumEM provides "full spectrum emergency management" through its software as a service model. Our software products will be used to manage incidents from routine emergencies to catastrophic events. Our software will provide the tools to manage all phases of the "disaster life-cycle." Our logo should inspire confidence in a time of crisis, and suggest creative problem-solving.
Our core target customers will be government emergency management agencies at the local, state and federal level. The extended customer base would be any private or non-government organization that might need software to manage an incident like airports, hospitals or the American Red Cross.
A wordmark logo with an abstract mark is very appealing. The designs should be such that any one component (word-mark, abstract-mark) should be able to stand on their own as elements, effectively interchangeable. Color selection should be easily reproducible, and I would shy away from gradients, which would be tempting given the name of the company and current web 2.0 design trends.
This contest will be guaranteed, and there will be a pipeline of work, giving the winning designer assured future projects as well as good exposure in the government software services sector. The next job in the pipeline will be incorporating the tagline "Full Spectrum Emergency Management" into the logo, then business cards, and an initial web presence. Good luck and I look forward to your designs!
