The name 'e-μ' (pronounced 'Emu') must use a lowercase 'e' and a lowercase greek letter mu ('μ'). The hyphen in between needs to be elevated so it is almost superscript - whatever looks pleasing (an example attached). The reason for it being uppercase is that a 'e' followed by a superscript '-' is the scientific symbol for the electron, which is a nice dual meaning.
In terms of look and feel, we would like something simple, clean and high-tech. We like the Rocket Lab website branding and design, for example.
White on black or black on white should be the main colour scheme, preferably with an inversion possible. The project is for an infra-red camera, so it would be appropriate to add some red to the design if it really enhances the look, but only as an accent.
- ** NEW ** the pattern of the ISS orbit (google image search 'iss orbit') - earth doesn't need to be present, only maybe two lines showing the 'precessing' nature of the orbit (i.e. shifted a bit each time)
- stars (not planets)
- the southern cross constellation (e.g. Australian flag) would be *very* appropriate - it can be any angle, but please avoid red stars
- space and astronomy
- looking out / observing / seeing / detecting / discovering
- camera / shutter / aperture / optics / light
- an emu (see below)
Something we'd like designers to consider is including the Aboriginal Australian rock carving of an Emu found at Elvina Track in Sydney (links below). This is believed to show the shape of an Emu seen in the Milky Way from this location. If the designer feels this doesn't work, then it is not essential.
Please keep aspect ratio non-extreme, i.e. square or close to square.
