Society for Information Display is a nonprofit trade organization that hold events for the presentation and discussion of new information on display technology. Also, SID publishes this and other information about display tech in it's magazine, quarterly journal, and annual Digest of technical papers. This logo is for our annual tradeshow, comprised of multiple conferences and an exhibition, called Display Week. Display Week is the premier worldwide event showcasing advances in electronic display technology. Electronic displays by themselves make up a 100 billion dollar industry, and more importantly serve as the manner in which a majority of consumer electronics differentiate themselves. The Display Week Exhibition provides a venue where display technology and product providers can meet with the engineers, designers, and business development decision makers driving the integration of new display technology into products. History has shown that the display innovations that first appear at Display Week are integrated into leading products within months to a few years. Display Week is where the world got its first look at technologies that have shaped the display industry into what it is today: liquid crystal display (LCD) technology, organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology, HD and 4K TV, and advanced touch interfaces, just to name a few. Display Week is also where emerging industry trends such as flexible displays, electronic paper, displays for wearables, solid state lighting, digital signage, and printed electronics are brought to the forefront of the display industry. First looks like these are why thousands of attendees will flock to San Diego for Display Week 2014. If your company is involved in any aspect of displays, including display systems, components, services, manufacturing equipment, or applications, come to Display Week 2014 to meet the decision makers that can grow your business on a global scale! Display Week 2014 will cover the hottest technologies in the display marketplace, including: •OLED displays •Advanced LCDs •HD and 4K TV technologies •Digital signage •Flexible Displays and e-Paper •Touch and other interactive interfaces •Display electronics •Advanced optical films •Materials and processes for display manufacturing •Solid-State Lighting •Oxide TFTs •LTPS TFTs •Plasma displays •Projection displays •Display metrology
Logo types to explore
We want to move from using a new logo each year to the same logo for every year, to increase logo recognition and brand strength. Thus, we don't want the new logo to incorporate pictorial elements of a single destination city ala the previous logos shown; rather it should communicate "Display Tech." The logo needs to look good on a white background, online and print, as well as the blue background, top left side of the page at displayweek.org. We need the logo submitted as high res jpg, and in Illustrator ai vector-based format.
