Current logo and more context on the new company is here: http://ethoslabs.us/
I'm attaching the business cards I initially made for reference of how I initially put together the name/url into the logo.
The design needs to work for both governments (more traditional) and startups (more innovative).
The current logo is purely text-based, which seems a bit amateur; the feedback I've received is that it's heavy and blockish, which runs counter to the lean, nimble approach that embodies the organization. So please don't feel the need to stick to this look/feel at all; it's a very early startup, and brand identity is still being defined.
I do, however, like to use of the sigma symbol "E" for the E in ethos as it symbolization the summation of institutions/governments and startups -- bringing them together to collaborate, etc. Also, it's greek origin gives it historical heft, which I like to retain; the balance of new tech w/ old ideas.
In general, I'm looking for something more graphical, yet clean and sophisticated.
