Friendsource is a free Facebook-integrated mobile and web application that gives you a simple and organized way to ask your friends for service provider referrals. Build and share your list of preferred providers and contact providers anonymously online. As your network grows you have instant access to service providers you can trust.
The app is general purpose, but we think the primary audience is decision-makers in a family home who are researching and scheduling doctors, home upkeep services, family care, pet care. Based on our Facebook fan stats, 25-55 year old mothers. 76% of our fans are women in that demographic. Since our app can be marketed for use by any demographic for any subset of service categories that are relevant to that demographic, the logo should be friendly and engaging to women, but not overtly feminine in a way that could deter other demographics.

We distinguish ourselves from these lead-referral businesses by offering both the consumer and the provider distinct advantages: first (and this is the primary drive/functionality behind our brand) the consumer isn't reading reviews written by strangers... they're collecting referrals from people in the Facebook friend list... 'friend-sourcing'... which means the information they get back is already much more highly trusted than anything they could get elsewhere. Second, the consumer doesn't have to give up their contact information in order to discuss their needs with a referred provider. The provider gets a 'warm lead', and the ability to message the consumer (without learning their identity) to try to get the job. They already have a foot in the door because their referral by the consumers friend lends them credibility and if they handle themselves professionally they have a good chance of getting the work.
We built this model acknowledging that in many cases the first thing we do when we want to hire someone is ask a friend for a referral.
The basis of our brand is that you are getting trustworthy information from people you already know and trust. We cement and strengthen existing communities by showing socially-relevant providers to people and broadening market access for the most reliable and trustworthy providers in that social circle.
