We’re looking for a logo that can be scaled easily and translates well across web and print in varying sizes. It should be versatile enough to fit with a variety of different communication materials for both youth and adult audiences (see attached program materials for examples).
We are open to either a pictoral logo or simply a stylized word mark of our name, or a combination of the two. Both "ecosource" and "ECOSOURCE" are acceptable. Regardless of style, we’re looking for something CLEAN and SIMPLE rather than complex.
We do have a slogan (“Growing a Green Community”), but you’re not required to incorporate it unless it works for your design.
We realize eco/environmental logos are overdone, but please try to avoid canned/generic leaf logos. Creative use of foliage is acceptable.
Our target audience is divided between youth, educators, community members, funders, and local politicians.
We provide programs and workshops to students that focus on waste reduction, buying local food, and being more environmentally aware. We also maintain and promote community gardens and engage community members of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
We realize it's difficult to come up with a pictoral since our name isn't an object or "thing". This is why stylized word marks are encouraged and perfectly acceptable on their own (interesting font, etc.).
However, if you're more picture/logo-oriented, here are a few keywords to spark some ideas: education, teaching, talking, youth, books, growing, gardens, trees, urban agriculture, local food, waste reduction, recycling.
