MDI is the parent company for its several business divisions, e.g. MDI Apparel, MDI Outdoor, MDI Hospitality, and MDI Medical. It would be good to have a new logo that is flexible so we can easily add the other business divisions to it primary logo. Would like to have a creative customized textile icon incorporated with the name of the company. But we don't want to see sewing needles and thread, t-shirts or other apparel items - because we make 'homegoods' textiles (bed linens, blankets, pillows, etc) out of our proprietary fabric. And we manufacture 'customized' textiles for our customers who have special needs, such as jackets, medical apparel, security vests, etc.
The company logo will go by MDI, but the official full corporate name should be utilized too - Mill Direct, Inc.
Our current corporate color is Navy Blue - but we are open to other shades of dark blue. Our business divisions have colors of Green, Orange, Purple and Royal Blue. We are not necessarily looking to incorporate ALL of the colors in the main corporate logo. We are also open to using silver or gray as well.
We need the logo to scale small enough to be embroidered on apparel, bedsheet labels, website logo, social media ads, etc.
We manufacturer a new, eco-friendly 'Fabric' to make bed sheets, pillows, quilts, blankets, apparel and much more. The 'Fiber' for our fabric is made from raw materials (plant sugars). The process to make our fiber involves the fermentation of the plant sugars being extracted from plants (photosynthesis) and that outcome is made into fibers that are spun into a 'Yarn' and made into a textile material. A 'Textile' is any material made of a network of interlacing fibers (yarn or thread). Yarn or Thread is made by spinning raw fibers to produce long strands. A 'Fabric' is a material made from the long strands through weaving (and other methods) that are used in the production of other goods - like our bed sheets, pillows, blankets, apparel, etc. Our focus in currently on making home goods - bedding, pillows, etc. NOTE: We don't want to see plant images or references in our logo. Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any questions.
