Who we are:
Origin is the new name for a Texas-based biotechnology company that develops and uses microbes for applications in the oilfield, environmental, and agriculture sectors. Our largest line of business is in the oilfield, where we inject microbe blends down wells during the drilling and production stages. The bacteria form colonies inside the well, where they control paraffin, eliminate toxic H2S gas, and control corrosion and scale problems on equipment. Our environmental remediation division uses similar microbes to clean up hydrocarbon spills in a way that is safe, swift, and effective. We also have a line of products that works as an organic fertilizer.
Our competition is from chemical companies that inject chemicals down oil wells. What sets us apart:
Science. We lab test every well monthly, and customize that well’s microbe blend based on the results. Bacteria occur naturally in oil reservoirs, and they are by far the safest and most efficient way to solve problems with paraffin, H2S, scale, corrosion, and asphaltenes.
Service. Our account managers put all the lab data in our customers’ hands. We respond quickly to their needs and keep a close eye on their well data for them, so we can work out a solution often before they know there is a problem.
Safety. All of our products are Non-Hazardous, and Non-Pathogenic to humans, animals, and the environment, including the water supply.
Our Target Audience:
We want our logo to appeal to decision-makers in our client companies, which are mostly mid-sized to large oil companies. We want something that reflects our commitment to safety and environmentally sound management, but that also looks “tough” enough for a hardhat sticker in the field.
Paraffin is the hard wax in crude oil that turns solid at surface temperature, blocking pipes, damaging equipment, and forcing expensive maintenance if it is not controlled.
