This is a non-profit/ charity trying to make the world (and especially the oceans) a better place - focussed on plastic (sea) pollution. I want people to be aware about plastic polution and how we all add to this, and have them taking small steps in the plastic-free direction. I'm not primarily going to show how bad it is how much plastic we use, but will focus more on the benefits of not using plastic/ picking alternatives and making a positive change. It's really focussed on making realistic steps in your own environment (personal and corporate).
Target audience: everybody who uses plastic, but probably more the people and (corporate) companies who life a conscious life and care about the planet already.
My mission / story:
Life’s just better without plastic.
Get inspired to live life with a little less plastic and replace them with amazing alternatives. Using less plastic feels good, saves lives and makes the world a better place. For ourselves and future generations on our planet. Did you know it takes 450-1.000 years for our tons of plastic waste to degrade? Plastic survives us.
Ever tried eating a plastic bag?
It also means that every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists! In the proces of degrading, plastic travels over land and ends up in the ocean way too often. As a result, animals like sea turtles get to wear our plastic around their body, straws get stuck in their nostrils and plastic gets in their digestive system. Sometimes fish and other sea life simply mistake plastic bags for food. How could they know ... ? Oh! And maybe you already ate some of your own plastic trash, because it ended up in fish as microplastics. Kid you not.
Unplastify in baby steps
Life’s just better without plastic. But detoxing your life from plastic use can be pretty tough. The computer you’re looking at or the mobile device you hold probably contains plastic already. Our daily lives are drenched in small and big parts of plastic. Let’s all make a change now by taking tiny steps in the plastic-free direction. Brilliant people already thought of amazing alternatives for plastic. Lots of these products are compostable and/or edible. They’re made out of plants like bamboo, from grass or seaweed.
