travis.vachon got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a logo for the easiest way to get your friends together

Let's Do Something (optional)
Spark is the easiest way to get together with friends. Going out with friends on a Friday night shouldn't mean 3 different threads of group text messages. Create a Spark by suggesting a time and place, and invite friends. Invitees can easily say they're in or opt out to get off the thread. Spark is designed to get people off their phones and engaged with their friends in real life. Spark is in the app store now - for more information, see https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spark-lets-do-something/id797658747?ls=1&mt=8 The visual design of the current app will be overhauled significantly and should not be taken into account in the logo design - I plan to use the logo to inform the design of the rest of the app. Spark's target audience is high school students, college students, and twenty-somethings who go out a couple nights a week with varying groups of friends. Spark should feel hip, utilitarian, simple and fun. Its visual style should make users feel as comfortable planning a date with someone they barely know as inviting 20 friends out to the bar.
Logo types to explore
I'm partial to the concept of using a stylized "spark" for the "a" in "Spark." Ideally, this stylized spark would be reusable as the basis for the app's home screen icon. I've uploaded a couple sketches of this concept. Also very interested in totally unrelated ideas, so don't let that thought constrain you!

Pixelmatters did an incredible job designing the logo for my podcast. I wrote some basic information for the project brief and highlighted what the logo would be for, the colors, and example imagery for the concept-
Pixelmatters took my idea, boiled it down to it’s core essence, and designed a simple & powerful logo. I can’t thank him enough and his redesign ideas were very helpful and timely.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
