Kukua Pamoja (Swahili - means Growing Together) was formerly CoolCap Ltd., a Kenyan company that sells farming equipment to smallholder farmers in Africa. These are smallholder farmers who farm on fewer than 5 acres and rely on family as a source of farm labor. These farm families are stuck in a cycle of poverty becasue they lack financing to access simple equipment that cost less that USD $1,000. Their production is low because their tools are limited to machetes, buckets, and hoes. CoolCap Fund, the parent company in the US created an innovative Pay-as-you-Harvest system whereby payments are deducted by those who buyer the farmers crops at harvest time. These smallholder farmers, who do not have access to loans are the target audience.

Kukua Pamoja is the company's new name (previously CoolCap Ltd). The company's mission is to improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers through an innovative financing model that allows farmers to access mechanization. This equipment significantly reduces manual labor, and increases both farm productivity and household income.
Kukua Pamoja is the Kenyan company that sell equipment to smallholder farmers, with low cost financing. The logo needs to appeal to East African culture and incorporate the ideas of farming, agriculture, and/or growing. When viewing the logo, we want people to immediately recognize that it is an agricultural related company. CoolCap Fund, the parent company's website is: http://www.coolcapfund.org. This site describes how Kukua Pamoja operates and what they do, but doesn't mention Kukua Pamoja by name because with just changed the name and have not updated our site. The attached one-pager is about the Parent Company, CoolCap Fund, but in its description, it is Kukua Pamoja that is making equipment available on the ground in Kenya.
