Hello there! First and foremost, I am a designer and photographer myself. I've worked for several branding and design firms throughout the years, but when it comes to designing for myself, I am way too indecisive.
A little back story on our Cobb Industries. The company was founded 24 years ago by my late Uncle. He passed away last year, and the company was left to my father, with a request that myself and my two brothers continue to run the company. Being that we are all under the age of 27, we are taking a very modern approach to expanding the business. The name of the company is rather entertaining, and I would like to subliminally incorporate that into our design. My parents got hitched 30 years ago, and purchased a Civil War era built house. While remodeling said house with the help of my aforementioned uncle, my uncle found a Corn Cobb in the rafters of the kitchen. From then on, he was referred to by all as Cobb, and eventually went on to name his exceptionally successful business after an inside joke. Being that our business actually has nothing to do with corn, I don't want it to be an actual corn kernel, but sort of represent the pattern in which the kernels form. I have included something that I like that I think you can play off of.
Our previous logo was made back in the late 1990's on a program that I think microsoft paint is now based off of. It was always represented in Teal, and or several shades of Blue and Aqua, which I am content with keeping, but also would be interested in potentially seeing some metal like colors and textures, I.E. brushed aluminum or chrome. I have included a photo of the elusive Swiss Guide Bushing, I would either like to see that incorporated as maybe a C or and O, or even just as a Symbol or Monogram for other branding purposes. I also really like the idea of having a Monogram, a Symbol, and a Logo.
I know that was a lot of word vomit, but like I said, I couldn't design for myself if my life depended on it. I know what I like, but don't know what I want. Have at it!
