Who are we
Small business dedicated to producing quality apparel & equipment for weightlifters/powerlifters in the Toronto Area. Focusing on individuals within the 20-40 age range.
I've lived within Toronto for about 5 years now, and find myself spending tons of cash on brands south of the border. I love supporting the brands, athletes, and families behind these small businesses - but the shipping costs, import duties, and exchange rates burn through my cash like a dude burns through protein at an all you can eat sushi buffet after leg day.
It's time to create a brand for Canadians - because Canada has swagger too, eh!
The brand is Fort York Iron. What's the meaning behind it? Let's break it down -
* Fort York
The neighbourhood where it all began for me. It's where I discovered my passion to lift. What else does this neighbourhood represent to me? Strength. Power. Perseverance.
Fort York was established back in 1793 in order to control the waters of Lake Ontario during the threat of war. It's also the time when the Provincial capital of Ontario was moved to Toronto and as a result, paved the way for the development of Toronto into the city it is today. Fort York was destroyed during the war of 1812. Restored today, Fort York is a national historic site, providing over two centuries of Canadian history and a reminder of where Toronto started.

It's the foundation element in the steel plates and barbells that we lift in the gym. Those weights have allowed me to understand the work and dedication required to grow and succeed. Weightlifting is not only a passion, but its a therapy that has helped many. Never forget your foundation. The values that define you are yours. Don't allow others to lead you astray from what you believe in. And always remember, the barbell never lies.
