Ben_Hall got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create cool Katacoda logo and character/mascot

We're building a online learning platform for software developers and operations. The aim is to remove the barriers of learning new technologies, such as infrastructure technologies like Docker and containers. Also languages like Node.js, F#, C# etc. We do this by providing pre-configured development environments with a guided learning pathway of katas/scenarios to teach real world scenarios. We're targeting people who are developers or system administrations. The product is currently online at http://www.joinscrapbook.com. We're rebranding and want you to create a logo for the new name "Katacoda" (Katacoda.com). The Kata part of the name reflects the training aspect, it's meaning being "a system of individual training exercises in karate and other martial arts.". The coda part is a play on word for Coder/Developer/Technical person. My company is called Ocelot Uproar, we'll be launching a wide-range of different products. Katacoda is the first.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Let designers make suggestions: Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Should fit with the general open source aesthetic—friendly, fun, playful, colorful. Should be something that a software developer would want to wear on a t-shirt or as a sticker on their laptop. We'd like this to include a playful character that we can build a brand around. We want a character that would fit in with the logos highlighted on https://www.stickermule.com/products/die-cut-stickers. Docker's logo (https://www.docker.com/brand-guidelines) are a great example of this. Github is another great example. https://github.myshopify.com/products/octodex-sticker-packs I like that Docker's logo is more professional looking and how Github can have colourful characters but also a simpler outline on their website. Update 1: We would like you to express your own thoughts, but we had in mind a cartoon styled "ninja cat". Please don't feel restricted to this. Update 2: We'd also like to see cats with a bit more of a darker side, more serious.
