This illustration will be printed on a t-shirt for both men and women at our conference, so keep that in mind :) We would like to use red and blue (Chicago flag colors if possible).
DevOpsDays Chicago attempts to reflect the culture and approach of Chicago. In the past, we have had a theme of "Deep Dish DevOps", with a logo revolving around pizza. We would like to avoid pizza themes this year.
Chicago is known for it's architecture and history; we would like to see this reflected in the design. DevOps is also about collaboration, so a look and feel that underlies a collaborative or cooperative vibe would be ideal.
I have attached our logo for this year, which you can incorporate if it feels natural. I've also attached a graphic of the Chicago flag, to help get the colors and design for inspiration..
The logo doesn't have to be exact. "Chicago 2016" can really be separate from the rest of the logo.
The important word is DevOps and it should have the best placement and legibility in the design.
Here are a few things to consider for inspiration that are "Chicago special"
- The Great Chicago Fire
- The Chicago skyline
The DevOps culture really likes yaks and bikesheds. Extra bonus points if there is something that has to do with a bikeshed and the Chicago architecture...or maybe a yak kicking over a lantern and starting the Great Chicago Fire :)
