We're looking for a gorgeous icon for our new "Connected" app for Mac OSX 10.8 and 10.9.
Connected is an app that presents notifications whenever the user's mac gains or loses connection to the internet. It also monitors the state of any site specified by the user (by ping'ing the site regularly) and presents notifications when the site goes online or offline.
The icon is for the Mac. As such, please do not design the icon within an iPhone icon frame.
What comes to mind is an icon that conveys notions along the lines of: internet, connection, site, ip address, network, etc. However, this is not required at all. We're looking for something very original, and that's where your imagination comes in. If your icon conveys the purpose of Connected, great! If it doesn't, no problem either, provided your icon is good enough. Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.kaleidoscopeapp.com This app does file comparisons, something the icon doesn't reflect at all. Yet in the end that isn't important at all because the icon is awesome in itself!

These icons are amazing! That is our goal for this project.
Icon in sizes 16x16, 32x32, 128x128, 256x256 and 512x512 and 1024x1024. If you need to change the smaller icons to something less detailed you can do that. Just make sure that it looks great in 512 and 1024. Please provide a PNG for each size and a layered PSD file with vectors where possible.
For a guide on Mac OS X icon design please see the OSX Human Interface Guidelines documentation:
I'm really looking forward to see what you come up with.
