Design an iOS App Icon for a Note-Taking App. Frequent Feedback and Guaranteed Prize!
Check out robert oC's Icon or button contest…
I am developing a minimalist note taking app for iOS (iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch). It's a minimalist app with a lot of open space and few buttons. It's similar in concept to these minimal designs: https://dribbble.com/shots/947571-Hey-I-m/attachments/107047 https://dribbble.com/shots/1917567-Text-Editor-Concept/attachments/329095
What's your vision?
I need an iOS app icon designed for a note-taking app. Here are details about the app: - The app will be for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. - The maximum size I will need for the icon is 2048x2048. - The app name starts with a lower-case "n". I don't want the name of the app incorporated into the icon, but it's ok to incorporate the letter 'n' if you want. - In the app, the user can choose the theme of the app which changes the color scheme. So there's no specific color scheme that the app always uses and there's no specific color scheme I want to use in the icon. Feel free to use the colors you think will be best. - The app will have an Apple Watch component which will use a circular version of the icon. You can read about Apple's Watch icon requirements here: https://developer.apple.com/watch/human-interface-guidelines/specifications/#home-screen-icons Here are a few examples of icons I like: https://dribbble.com/shots/2050704-Thank-you?list=shots&sort=popular&timeframe=now&offset=56 https://dribbble.com/shots/2049221-Sanitary-towel?list=searches&tag=app_icon&offset=21 https://dribbble.com/shots/2026088-App-Icon?list=searches&tag=app_icon&offset=219 https://dribbble.com/shots/2036655-Gains-App-Icon?list=searches&tag=app_icon&offset=121 http://dxdkxqkkk0kvy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/radiummac-masthead-720x340.png Those icons aren't an exhaustive list of icon styles that I like and I'm not suggesting that you use the exact colors or styles of the above icons. I'm just trying to give you a general idea of a few styles that I like. If you've never designed an iOS app icon before, here's a PSD template that will help you get the corner radius right: http://appicontemplate.com/ios8 The final deliverables I will need are: - The original design document (PSD, illustrator, sketch file, etc) - png versions of the icon in the Apple's required sizes which range from 29x29 to 2048x2048.
Monitoring this contest is my top priority. I will provide frequent feedback on your submissions every day as often as possible. If you have any general questions about the contest or design requirements, please post them publicly so everyone can see the answers.
