What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
BigHand is the world leader in digital dictation software allowing authors to route voice files to their secretary for transcription using a range of supported devices. Our main market is Legal, we are also well established in Healthcare.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We would like the following 4 icons designed for our new audio and device settings page. Microphone - the microphone an author will use to record their dictation Speakers - the speakers the author or secretary will use to listen to their dictation Control device - the device an author or secretary will use to control the BigHand Recorder. For an author this is a microphone which includes navigation buttons (play record etc) and for a secretary a foot pedal. An example of a supported microphone is the Philips SpeechMike and foot pedal the VEC. The icon must be unique to represent both user cases, we will consider using 2 separate icons for this if necessary, or 1 larger icon. Remote device -this is a device which has internal storage for recorded dictations. Users can record dictations remotely, when they connect the device to BigHand this will automatically upload their dictations. We support devices from a range of providers, examples of devices we support are the Philips DPM8000, Olympus DS5000 and the Grundig Digta420. The design must not focus on one brand.
The application where these icons will be used is desktop application which runs on the windows platforms. Our target audience is 'busy time focussed professionals'. Our software is recognised in the industry as of a high quality and the UI must reflect this. A mockup of the settings page is attached. The icon size we are looking for is 32x32. The corporate blue we use is: C 70 M 16 Y – K – PMS – R 45 G 169 B 224
