Our name is derived from the marbled cat (Pardofelis marmorata), a small wild cat species native to South/Southeast Asia. The design may incorporate a cat silhouette or other cat-inspired elements, but this is not a requirement. As an alternative to a cat silhouette, or in combination with it, the design may contain abstract elements such as lines, squares, rectangles, curves or other shapes.
If a cat is part of the design, the cat should resemble the marbled cat, which looks slightly different than common domestic cats (ref. http://bit.ly/2nMbk88 and http://bit.ly/2B6brAF). A stylized rendering is preferred, as the overall design aesthetic is more important than anatomical accuracy.
Although the company is fairly new (operating since Jan 2017), we are building on two decades of experience and would like our brand to reflect that. We want the brand to communicate quality, excellence, reliability, performance and accuracy with a clean, minimalist, modern and subtle design style.
- The “Marblecat” part of the name should be the primary element of the logo text, with the “Software” part secondary.
- The name should be in either upper case, lower case, small caps or a combination of two of these (creative alternatives allowed).
- The logo text should (probably) be sans-serif.
