In a world where the system benefits the few to the detriment of the many, it takes a few brave yet crazy souls to stand up for injustice and right the wrongs. Two years ago, our founder became fed up with seeing well-connected, over-priviledged, rich men start businesses and achieve near instant success while those of every other color, ethnic background, gender and socio-economic class had to struggle for pennies and scrape by trying to make their businesses succeed. So instead of waiting for someone else to fix the problem, she took a stand and dedicated her career to building a business that would champion small businesses.
Avisar is a procurement SaaS platform with a social mission to level the playing field for all small businesses to compete for contracts. We help government entities and corporations find and vet vendors based on their needs while promoting environmental sustainability, innovation and diversity in the global supply chain. As a central marketplace connecting small businesses with contract opportunities, Avisar includes several features that revolutionize the sourcing process centered on collaboration, transparency, robust tracking and reporting.
Our goal is to enhance the bidding process and make smart recommendations to both buyers and sellers that will help more small & diverse businesses better compete for contracts. Think of it as a "LinkedIn" for the supply chain. We cater to an audience of older millennials and up (28+) with a range of comfort in dealing with technology.
We are just a crazy group of entrepreneur activists fighting to change an entire system with the audacity to believe that we can. We all have experience working at both large, multinational corporations and small businesses and we share the same dream - to make it easier for people who are good at their craft to be recognized and receive opportunities. Most of our small businesses have fewer than 50 employees while we work with local government agencies (city, county, state) and multinational corporations to help them find and hire the right vendors for their projects. We are starting out on the west coast and plan to expand both nationally and internationally.
Our audience comprises businesses large and small as well as government agencies and we are at the intersection of connecting these three entities. We are not industry-specific. Instead, we focus on improving the business process of vendor sourcing.
We want to be taken seriously but at the same time, we want to be seen as the modern, rebellious company that really understands the needs of its users and is catering to them while bringing like-minded people (those who want to democratize the process) together. If Avisar was a car brand, we would be Tesla.
This is the start of our re-branding effort which will include a brand style guide, powerpoint templates, business card designs, sales/marketing materials and a new website.
