The company’s name comes from my last name (Khadra, which in Arabic means Green) and my partner's last name (Brooks). While the use of the company's abbreviation (GBE or GB) in the logo is welcome, please try and make sure it is not the only or main focus/element of the design.
I wish for the logo to deliver a message, and that is that the business is a British, electrical engineering company that delivers services driven by client satisfaction, with emphasis on simplifying the sophistication of engineering (the slogan!).
Ideally, I want a minimalist logo that inspires confidence in the clients I meet and speak to. A logo with a wow factor, is simple, modern and professional-looking. This business will rely a lot on my personal interaction, so the logo needs to offer “warmth” as well.
It is important that the logo is perceived as sophisticated, and neither cheap nor intimidating (i.e. avoid the corporate look please). Also, note that my services are more office based and not hands-on - i.e. avoid using repair tools, and avoid designs that give the impression of a build company; also please avoid logos that feel more like energy drinks, sports brands, or comic themed ones. In addition, kindly avoid submitting generic logos. I need to justify the investment I'm putting into this with a design that stands out. So ask yourselves before submitting something: would you pay X amount of money for the design you are about to submit...? I'm not that keen on turning down designs so I hope you give me a good challenge in selecting super cool concepts that I find hard to choose between.
I appreciate this isn't a particularly easy task but your work will help me realise a big dream of mine and it will go a long way.
Last but not least, I recommend that you submit multiple concepts "of different themes" (very important!). Having multiple submissions/variations of same concept would only be useful if what you submit was "the one". So please try and work on different themes to help me figure out what you - as a designer - are able to offer. If I find the right designer, then tweaking and improving the concept to its final state is easy and can be attended to later in final round.
