Surviving to Thriving: A first generation navigating personal finance. You are worthy of the best outcome
My parents were farmers, and my family grew up poor. My parents where political refugees after the Vietnam War. They were some of the lucky ones that was able to escape political persecution because they helped the United States during the Vietnam War. They were given asylum and came to the United States to start a new life. My parents struggled with finding good paying jobs due to their lack of education and not knowing how to speak English fluently. As our family grew and with more mouths to feed, they return to what they knew, farming. The farm life was a hard life. My parents struggled all the time financially to provide of our family. Even as a young child I could feel the despair, stress, and fear at times - of what would happen if they could not provide for us financially. It was there, as a young child that I made the decision - that no matter what, I would seek a pathway out of poverty, a better way to help my parents and people like them. My childhood experience in poverty inspired me to pursue my financial planning career. Today, I am a Certified Financial Planner with over 16+ years of experience in the financial industry. I have spent over almost two decades helping people who has millions of dollars in investable assets, helping high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals continue to build and preserve their wealth. This book is my way to use my professional knowledge, experience and expertise to give back to those who are underserved and knows that they lack personal financial literacy and is looking for help - a pathway to a better and stronger financial future.
Its about helping people who don't feel like they can afford financial planning or financial advise, but needs a roadmap and process to implement to get them on track to build wealth
Anyone who thinks they are too poor to have a financial plan...basically 99% of the world population. I'm writing this for people like my parents, who came over as refugees and had no resource on how to learn to grow their money and people like me a first generation born, who if had the knowledge and roadmap won't not have made so many trial and error mistakes to get to financial success
