I need a cover for my third book, which will be 6.9" and printed through CreateSpace. I will need both a cover and the back. Please use text placeholders for now based on the type of information on the back of the second book (see below). Requirements: * Title: Nerd Know-How: The 24 Best Apps for Work And How to Use 'Em! Title notes: You can eliminate the colon from the main title and use the & sign instead of And on the last line. The last two lines can be combined, but I kind of envisioned the last line to be an extra note in maybe a handwritten font. Author: Beth Ziesenis Your Nerdy Best Friend * Use the color orange * Have a consistent feel with book #2: http://www.yournerdybestfriend.com/book/. They should look great together on the shelf. * Integrate one of the cartoons from this folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4mmmstrh9t90nd8/AAD4-gIwqh5bGqDT11c93-xna?dl=0 -- NOTE: Right now I don't have vector files for these graphics, and I may not be able to get them. * The book is about apps and tech tools that people can use in the office. The audience is professionals -- and many of them work in small home offices or by themselves. Possibilities: * Use a fun typography look like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/duqy3y35hvommxv/New%20Title%20Nerd%20Know-How.jpg?dl=0 * Incorporate fun nerdy pictures like these: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/153no6b892oxjau/AABoVRUUztAfMCocKXwVszaFa?dl=0 (But I don't necessarily want to have a stock nerd photo on the cover like the first one. I'd rather have something more personalized) * Go a little retro like my new website: http://www.yournerdybestfriend.com or my newsletter http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=8b74268dbf86e7f8c39b5e6c5&id=9409e8367b&e=[UNIQID] -- but it still needs to look good next to the other book
We've had a bumpy start to this project. I hired a designer I really like for my business cards and such, but he and I couldn't find a great direction for the cover. Please watch this video to see what I liked and disliked about his ideas: http://screencast.com/t/zygha1WdOme ALSO -- please note that I will probably add blurbs from reviewers and perhaps change the title (27 tools instead of 24, or something).
