timc P got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
Check out timc P's Banner ad contest…
Target audience is software developers. Awareness banner for a series of webcasts. Banner should attract their attention and entice them to think this is fun and worth-while.
What's your vision?
Super hero themed banner in illustration style (no stock imagery or photography please) • Web banner 800 wide • social images (for LinkedIn: 50x50, FB: 403x403, TW: 497x393) For this contest just focus on the 403x403 until we have a good look/feel going then we can move to the other sizes. The client is corporate so we can't go too crazy, but they do want to get creative. They've had a series of custom superheros illustrated for them but they don't want the actual heros on the site but they do want the look/feel of a superhero image. Use placeholder text for the title "FlashCasts" and somewhere else the placeholder "#HashTag". Just type "CompanyName" as a placeholder for the logo and use a simple flat "infinity" symbol for the product logo (see attachment for how it is used), but the most important thing is the illustration. It shouldn't be a literal superhero, but should evoke a super hero comic style. Less of gritty/realistic Stan Lee and more fun/light-hearted like Archie (see document for samples). Some imagery you can think of would be the, Bam, Pow! starbursts of the old Batman TV show or a lightning bolt, or the fist of a hero thrusting up in the air as if to take flight, or a logo on a chest like Superman. Or you come up with something else that speaks Superhero without actually putting a figure on the banner. Have fun with this.
Simple but catching. We were thinking about something really colorful like maybe orange or green. Please take a look at the Visual Studio branding guidelines and now replace the "infinity symbol with the Visual Studio logo. Also replace company name with the Microsoft logo with four colored squares and the hashtag is #HeroDev
